Return to 2020 MoCo RBI Registration

The Major League Baseball (MLB) Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program is designed to increase the number of talented student-athletes prepared to play in college and professionally. More than 200 RBI participants have been drafted by MLB teams, while numerous others have received scholarships to play collegiate baseball and softball. Notable RBI program alumni include Manny Machado, Justin Upton, CC Sabathia, Carl Crawford, and Hunter Greene.

Montgomery County (MoCo) RBI is a certified affiliate of the MLB RBI program. We serve as a player development mechanism within diverse local communities. MoCo RBI provides opportunities for area scholar-athletes to experience:

- increased exposure to pro scouts and college baseball coaches,

- fundamental skills development under the tutelage of professional quality coaches and staff,

- access to affordable organized baseball activities.

Registration for MoCo RBI is currently free for all student-athletes through December 31, 2020.

MoCo RBI offers youth players a plethora of community baseball activities. Available options include holistic training facilitated by experienced industry professionals, pro-style workouts, local skills competitions, clinics, and organized game play.

MoCo RBI has expanded its programming to include the new Phenom Identification Series, an invitation-based identification vehicle designed to provide local amateur ballplayers with opportunities to showcase their talent directly to pro scouts. Beginning Spring 2020, the Phenom Identification Series is expected to be an annual event lasting from early-May through late-June. During the player evaluation process, prospects will participate in pro-style workouts and competitive games within an official MLB youth league.

Top performers may be selected to the MoCo RBI All-Star Prospect Team that will represent Montgomery County in MLB youth tournaments during late-July and early-August, where they will compete against opponents managed by the Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, and other RBI programs nationwide.

The Phenom Identification Series is open to players age 13-18 that reside in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia.
